I. GENERAL INFORMATION OF CINEPLANET

HISTORY

Cineplanet is a 100% Peruvian Company, the operation of movie theaters and exhibition of films were dedicated by its, that began in July, 2000.This is currently leading the multiplex chains in number of rooms , spectators and collections.

With over 13 years of operation, it has 12 complexes (resorts) in Lima and 12 in provinces.

IMAGINATION

Cineplanet’s history begins in mid- 1998 , with an idea originated by three young Peruvians who decided to return to Peru to identify investment opportunities and develop new projects, after finishing their postgraduate in Wharton University.

Nexus Film Corp, a Peruvian company created by these young people, identified a strong need in the entertainment entry, in Lima and the major cities of Peru . The film industry was selected as an industry with high growth potential, considering that the number of spectators had fallen from 16 million in 1981, to 3 million in 1995.

THE BEGINNING

In 1999, Nexus Film Corp acquires Cineplex cinema chain, a company that operated to date three cinema complexes located in the districts of San Miguel, Centro de Lima (Adam y Eva Cinema) and Miraflores (Alcazar Cinema). From this acquisition, the group decides to recruit a management staff, expert on the field of services. The costumers and collaborators were oriented by the company, developing a culture based on values.

EXPANSION

In May, 2005, as part of its regional expansion strategy, Cineplanet joins to the Chilean market under the brand Movieland, but since 2011 also consolidated with the name “Cineplanet”. The implementation of Cineplanet in Chile includes the cities of Santiago, Valdivia, Temuco and Concepción. It has 6 complexes to date.

DIVERSIFICATION

In February, 2013, Cineplanet inaugurates a new concept in rooms, Cineplanet Prime, offering a different experience to the viewer, with chair attention, personalized service and comfortable reclining seats. Whit this incursion, Cineplanet expands its offering and established itself as a leader company.

CONSOLIDATION

Cineplanet plans to continue bringing the cinema experience to more areas of Lima and Provinces, maintaining a leadership , not only in viewers, but also in a quality service, providing a great cinematic experience .
