"Patch Adams "
This film is about a medical student who was practicing without a license that enjoyed helping the patients not only medically but in some way physically . His methods cast him up against many of the doctors and classmates . He was always making jokes ,despite him getting some of the highest grades in his class. Recognizing that many poor people were not being treated, as a student he formed the Gesundheit Clinic to aid those who were not getting proper treatment at the hospital.
He dreamed to bulid a hospital where medical consults can be free and the doctors instead of using a lot o medicne use more humor, with the porpuse of having a quiclky and better rehabilitation .
I learned that patients gives you the power to harme them because they trust you , also to have a better communication with your patient by treating them like a person , not just something you can fix , without a name or feelings ,or to stare clearly at the patient and mostly when they are describing their symptoms .
Also is important to made your patients to feel comfortable ,one way is to make patients laugh or been nice with them , but like Patch Adams says "All rational humans made mistakes" .
Although he was old for a medical school , he was a good example to other medical students and doctors .
The communication doctor- patient can be with the patient centred or the doctor centred ,i think that medical practitioner should involve patients to have a better changes in the therapy .
some of the differences between the patient centred and the doctor centred , is that the patient centred is that the Care is based on continuous healing relationships , the care is customized according to patient needs and values showing empathy , the patient is the source of control , transparency is necessary and the most important thing is that needs are anticipated. And in the other hand with the doctor centred approach what is all about is the medical training , the disease and patient are completely separate.
