Due date to post the writing Thursday 6:00 p.m.
According to my opinion, acquiring English is a very demanding activity because I have to study a lot in order to obtain a progress in my English speech. My experiences about English language before puberty were not significant for me because I do not remember anything about it, I consider that learning English – in that period of time – was not important and also the teachers did not give us motivation to learn a second language. I think that I was not be exposed to foreign language because the subject of English was not relevant for me in that age. I began to be interested in English when I was in 8th grade because I discovered that I was good in that subject in the school. For that reason I began to listen to music and also I tried to watch TV programs in English. Of course, I still do these kind of things.
My English teacher gave me a lot of support because she believed that I could develop my professional career in English as a second language. At the very beginning, I did not have many difficulties in learning English but, now I think that - maybe - I had problems in pronunciation because the teacher did not focused in that topic, and I believe this problem persists on me due to most of these bad teachings were fossilized in my speech and I had to do many things to overcome these difficulties. In the other hand, is important to recognize that learning English is easier when you acquire it naturally, for example: in a trip or living in a country for a determined time. Fortunately, I have known some persons who have had the opportunity to be in USA and they manage a very good accent but I am not sure if their language competences are like a native speaker, however I can learn a lot with them.
