Las contracciones en inglés como “wasn´t“ y “weren´t“ son de lo más comunes. Así que vete acostumbrando porque este tipo de contracciones no existen en el español.

Las contracciones en inglés se utilizan en el modo de hablar diario de las personas, tienen un grado de informalidad. Cuando no se utlizan es que la cosa es seria.

Estas contracciones solamente significan “Sí“

y “No“ en pasado. Yes, I was. Sí yo fui/era/estaba.

La expresión “I was born“ significa “Yo nací…“

Esto es porque aprenderás que en inglés no existen algunos verbos como “nacer“ entonces se compone la expresión “be born“ que aplicada al caso es: “I was born“ “nací.“
