  1. AGREGAR -ER- :
  • Fast = faster (mas rapido)
  • Tall = taller (mas alto)
  • Small = smaller (mas pequeño)
  • Rich = richer (mas rico)

  1. MONOSILABAS QUE TERMINAN EN CONSONANTE+VOCAL+CONSONANTE

(SE DUPLICA LA ULTIMA CONSONANTE)

  • Fat = fatter (mas gordo)
  • Big = bigger (mas grande)
  • Hot = hotter (mas caliente)

  1. LOS QUE TERMINAN Y SE REEMPLAZA POR I Y AGREGAMOS ER:
  • Happy = happier (mas feliz)
  • Heavy = heavier (mas pesado)
  • Dry = drier (mas seco)

  1. SI TIENE MAS DE DOS SILABAS SE UTILIZA MORE:
  • Expensive = more expensive (mas costoso)
  • Beautiful = more beautiful (mas hermosa)
  • Interesting = more interesting (mas interesante)
  • Intelligent = more intelligent (mas inteligente)
  1. COMPARATIVES IRREGULARS:
  • Good = better
  • Bad = worse
  • Little = les
  • Far = farther / further

EXAMPLES:

  • Carlos is sadder than Juan. (sad)
  • The rabbit is smaller than the lion. (small)
  • Maria and Sofia are uglier than my friend Luisa. (ugly)
  • I was more handsome than you. (handsome)
  • Do you think this summer will be hotter than usual? (hote)
  • The camera you bought is better than mine. (Good)
  • This book is much more useful than that one. (useful)
  • The fog is getting thicker. (thick)
  • Life was so much simpler before all that happened. (simple)

6 REGLAS IMPORTANTES:

  1. AGREGAR -EST- :
  • Tall = The tallest
  • Old = The oldest
  • New = The newest
  1. AGREGAR -ST- : A LOS QUE TERMINAN EN E
  • Wide = the widest
  • Nice = the nicest
  • Safe = the safest
  1. DUPLICAR CONSONANTE SI ES C+V+C Y AGREGAR EL -EST- :
  • Fat = the fattest
  • Big = the biggest
  • Thin = the thinnest

              (los que terminan en w solo se agrega el -est-)

  • Slow = the slowest
  • New = the newest
  1. CAMBIAR Y POR -IEST- :
  • Spicy = the spiciest
  • Hairy = the hairiest
  • Ugly = the ugliest
  1. USAR MOST SI SON MAS DE 2 SILABAS:
  • Important = the most important
  • Modern = the most modern
  • Expensive = the most expensive
  1. ADJETIVES IRREGULARS:
  • Good = the best
  • Bad = the worst
  • Far = the farthest

  • The spiciest food in the world is in Mexico. (spicy)
  • Your are the best.  (Good)
  • This is the oldest car that we have in the garage. (old)
  • Those are the ugliest houses in the city. (ugly)
  • He is the most elegant person that I have seen in my life. (elegant)
  • These are the easiest exercises that we have done. (easy)
  • Tom is the laziest person I know. (lazy)
  • What’s your darkest secret? (dark)

SIMPLE PAST-REGULAR VERBS

  1. AGREGAR -ED- :
  • Play = played
  1. AGREGAR -D- : a los que terminan en E
  • Dance = danced
  1. AGREGAR -IED- : a los que terminan en Y

(consonante + y)

  • Study = studied
  1. DUPLICAR CONSONANTE + ED : en los que terminan (consonante + vocal + consonante) y tienen mayor fuerza de voz al final.
  • Stop = stopped
  1. EXCEPCIONES: (se agrega ed y son las que tiene fuerza de voz al inicio)
  • Open = opened
