Solve the following problem:
1-. The pressure of a fluid at rest on the walls, on a recipient’s bottom and on the surface of any object immersed in it, it’s called ‘’hydrostatic pressure’’. This pressure is directly proportional to the depth, relative to the liquid level. If the pressure on a swimming pool of 5 m depth is 49,000 Pa (Pascale), determine:
- The general equation relating the pressure in respect to depth
49,000=5m y=Kx
- The proportionality constant
49,000=K5
K=49000/5= 9800
- The particular equation relating the pressure in respect to depth
P=9800 h.
- The pressure in a 8 m depth P=78,400 Pa. (9800)(8)
- The depth if the pressure is 34300 Pa 3.5 m P=34300/9800=x
- Research the ‘’hydrostatic pressure’’ formula and compare it with your particular equation. Ph=pgh pressure = depth
- In the hydrostatic pressure formula. What does the rho (p) Greek letter means, and what value it has for sweet water? What does ‘’g’’ means and what is its value? Multiply these two values and compare the result with your proportionality constant
Rho= water density
Kg/m3 gravity = 9.8
(9.8)(1000)=9800
