1. Complete the following table with equivalences of temperature as it is indicated in each row.

2. Solve each problem about thermal expansion, specific heat, heat, stage change. Write the required data, formulas to be applied and procedure to reach a solution, considering the dimensional analysis. Finally, write a problem interpretation.

a) The cable –stayed bridge in Monterrey is 304 m long at 25°C. If we suppose that is made of steel, what would its length be if we reduce its temperature at -5°C?


b) In the morning, at 19°C, an Athos 1.1 1 owner, filled its gas tank with 35 lt. Then he parked his car under sunlight and temperature reached 45°C. How much gasoline was split?

c) At heating 550 g of an unknown substance is used 4324 calories to change its temperature from 17°C to 35°C. What is the specific heat of the unknown substance?


d) How many liters of gasoline have to be bunt to get 1.45 x 1012J heat amount? Can a tanker truck be filled with this combustible?

e) How much heat is needed to transform an ice block of 9.5 kg at -4°C to steam at 120°?


 f) What heat amount is needed to extract 850 g of water steam at 135°C in order to transform it on ice at -5°C?
