EATING DISORDERS
Since ancient times of humanity, food has been essential to the development of human life, not only because food is one of the basic needs of all living things, but also because it is closely linked to its origins, customs, traditions and lifestyle. There is a term called "eating behavior" which refers to behavior or reaction of a person over food. Throughout history different events have diverted determining this behavior disorders, such as periods of famine that has lived humans.
Freud considered the suction of satisfaction in one's body without resorting to an external object.
Through this essay, I will discuss in depth two of the best known and most common eating disorders in recent decades, such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia.
Anorexia nervosa, is that the person stops eating or does it in small amounts, leaving feeling hungry. Bulimia usually occurs in an individual who has already experienced anorexia and overeating is then induce vomiting.
Both are produced by excessive fear of gaining weight and those who suffer have a distorted image of themselves. It should be mentioned that these diseases can cause serious consequences for the organism, even death if not treated in time.
According to statistics these disorders occur primarily in women during adolescence, but can occur at later ages. The risk of death is 200 times the suicide rate of the general population, about half of the affected do recover completely, 30% have a partial recovery and 20% never gets to recover.
We have often heard about these pathologies or perhaps have known someone to suffer, but few or perhaps zero occasions when we stop to think why these. What leads a person to obesionarse both their weight and food to put this on their health and survival ?, What makes somewhere in the world people eat too much food and then vomit, meanwhile there are people that has nothing to eat and die of starvation?
As we know, the ideal or prototype of beauty, rejects the excesses of certain characteristics, for example, people with obesity or degree of fat are seen differently and have less both labor and love opportunities, this is explained in generally a person aesthetically graceful, achieved faster than the rest work, this occurs mainly for women.
There is no specific cause can be assigned these disorders, but there are several factors that together and over time lead to its development.
Apparently there is a genetic predisposition in some people for an eating disorder occurs.
One of the main factors must be media such as television, at the same time as it promotes contradicts the almost exaggerated food consumption and on the other hand shows a very thin women and usually omits those of greater weight. We can observe in the world of modeling, film and musical women with extreme thinness, which is mainly due to over demand on these and competence that form between them.
Other factors are personality problems, depression, family problems, emotional deprivation, social discontent, self-esteem, etc.
