Why Should People Get a Plastic Surgery?
Plastic surgery has become a successful tool to have a better quality of life. Some years ago, a relative was diagnosed with breast cancer in that moment she was devastated and feared for her physical appearance. Immediately, she began to fight against this disease undergoing chemotherapy to save. However, a few months later she received the news that chemotherapy had not given expected results. Therefore, she had to submit to an amputation. She also became depressed with the loss of her breast. A few months later, she received the news that plastic surgery could restore its security as a person through breast prosthesis. After she received the breast prosthesis she came back to be the happy person that she was before her disease. Besides, she said that plastic surgery made a miracle in her life.
In the last decades, plastic surgery industry has become very popular around the world. It became a fad that many women want to get it since the positive results are evident which can be seen in television actresses who constantly undergo different parts of their bodies to improve. However, its high cost does not allow many women look better and more attractive. That is why some women work really hard to save money in order to get a breast or button augmentation. Likewise, teenagers who want a plastic surgery ask this as a birthday present without taking into account that their bodies are not fully developed and it could have complications. Nevertheless, parents are responsible and they are who take de final decision. Besides, plastic surgery has more positive than negative aspects. This fashion is not harmful; it should only be used with caution. As a result, improve physical appearance, increase self-esteem, provide rehabilitation, profitable business and key to get a job are important benefits that people can get from plastic surgery.
Having a better physical appearance is an important benefit that people get from plastic surgery. Today humanity lives in an appearances world in which people should compete for a place. That is why plastic surgery has become a friend for those who seek a change in their image. Besides, “human beings have been actively engaged in the pursuit of self-improvement” (Kita, 2009) acquiring plastic surgery an important role in the society. In the same way, plastic surgery helps people to feel social acceptance. That is why wealthy people undergo more often to cosmetic surgery since many people strive to be the most popular in their social circle. In addition, as the time passes the body begins to exhibit changes such as wrinkles which are very disturbing and displeasing for most people. Nevertheless, this is treatable through plastic surgery which helps disguise the age. If people have the possibility to improve their image they have to take advantage of that.
Plastic surgery successfully increases self-esteem. Sometimes self-esteem can be threatened by beauty stereotypes like models or actresses who have an esbelt body or physical changes of aging like wrinkles which tell people that they are getting older. However, cosmetic surgery might help people improve their self-esteem and feel safer about them. Besides, it is true that women go more often to the surgeon than men because women are more competitive
and nowadays being a beautiful women is the key to feeling good about themselves and have a good mental health. In the same way, people who have a high self-esteem are more secure and have stable relationships. In addition, overcoming complexes are another good reason to opt for a cosmetic surgery as eliminating physical imperfections that will raise their self-esteem. Finally, no matter what are the reasons why people choose a plastic surgery because the result is similar to increase self-esteem.
Providing rehabilitation for those who need to improve their quality of life.
When people suffer an accident and loses all or part of an extremity of their bodies the plastic surgery appears in order to help them. For example, war soldiers who have suffered a bomb blast and survived being physically deformed have had the chance of rejoin society through restorative surgery. In addition, restorative surgery is also fundamental in flaws of birth such as cleft lip. That is why today a birth imperfection is not a big problem since after surgery the problem ends. Besides, it can be rehabilitation for people who do not like some part of their bodies and they feel depressed. Therefore, plastic surgery can work as a psychological medicine to improve imperfections. As a result, rehabilitation is a necessary profit of plastic surgery.
