Activity 11 - Global Culture l
Analyze the past debates and answer the questions.
- How human relationships have change with the use of Internet, social media and globalization?
The human socialization has suffered in a physical stand point, because as elders are used to seeing people in front of them, nowadays is more common to chat in long distances via internet, than seeing each other.
In my case I like doing both, but is more common for me to message my friends through the internet than seeing them, because we don’t often get in agreement to see each other.
- Have you been in a difficult situation due to cultural differences?
No, I haven’t been in a discussion about any cultural differences, but I am not in agreement with all the traditions and beliefs of some foreign countries. I´ve heard about a lot of fights that the main issue is the differences between cultures, and these fights don’t end well for any side of the fight.
- What problems could be caused by rejection of differences and lack of tolerance?
There have been a lot of problems because of that, even country against country. There are people who don’t have any tolerance, and don’t like having an opinion about their culture, traditions, or beliefs.
- Which negative emotions could be present when a person from a minority group is rejected or left out?
The revenge is he most common and the most dangerous one, because when someone is rejected from a group that they like or love and that they put the time into it, the pain is a lot and they usually have a catastrophic revenge.
- Which action could you take to avoid the above, even when you are not directly involved? Is it best to take actions or to mind your own business?
Yea, is the best way to avoid problems. Minding our own business is the best way to stay out of problems, because you are not getting involved in the main argument that people are having around you, the best way is just not to give your opinion or just get away from the argument
