Resumen White Fang

White Fan is a Jack London’s book that speaks about a wolf’s life. This book has really rich and wide vocabulary, basically referring to the nature but I haven’t had any problem for reading it and I enjoyed so much.

The book begins with a pack of wolves that were living an enormous famine. They all looked as skeletons, until the weakest member began to limp, but they followed running and running. It ended when they found a moose and hunted it. With the time, the pack became smaller. At the end there were just one she-wolf and two wolves: One Eye and a young wolf. They fought each other and One Eye won. Some time after, One Eye and the she-wolf travelled to a cave where she gave birth five little cubs. White fang was one of them. One Eye died fighting against a lynx, and the other four cubs died because a famine. With the time, White Fang grew and went out of the cave and he found his first evidence of mankind. He yelped and his mother came to help him, but she didn’t snarl or bit the men, just the opposite: she behaved kind and tame. The Indians recognized the she-wolf as Kiche and Three Eagles called the little cub White Fang. Kiche and White fang belonged to Greay Beaver, but he gave Kiche to Three Eagles to pay off a debt. That wasn’t good for White Fang because he was separated from his mother and he became very sad. Furthermore, Grey Beaver took White Fang to Fort Yukong where he sold all his goods to the gold hunters. But there was a man; an ugly bad man who made Grey Beaver alcoholic and bought White Fang just for whisky, that man was Beauty Smith. When White Fang was owned by Beauty Smith, he was beaten a lot of times, just until when he became mad and ferocious. He hated blind and for no reason. But Beauty Smith had a purpose in all that he did, and then, the dogs’ fights began. He won every battle, he fought against dogs, wolves and a lynx. Nevertheless, when he fought Cherokee, the first bulldog he had ever seen, everything changed after he lost that fight. A few seconds after, Beauty Smith sprang over and began hitting him… just until when Weedon Scott, a mining expert, smashed his fit over Beauty Smith’s face. That strange man bought him for one hundred and fifty dollars and took White Fang with him. Matt, a Scott’s friend thought White Fang was impossible to tame, but Scott spent a lot of time showing human kindness to White Fang, and they did really good friends. Afterwards, Scott returned to Sierra Vista, his home, and with him was White Fang. One night, White Fang smelled something strange in the air and discovered an armed man. He attacked and fought him. White Fang got tear his throat and killed him, but he received three shots. A doctor saved him and a lot of people came to see him as a hero. When he went out from the house saw Collie and a lot of cubs. Those cubs were his cubs.
