WHAT IS INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING ?

It is known the phrase : " The Industrial Engineering is a profession that has a kilometer of knowledge and centimeter depth

Industrial Engineering is the branch of engineering in charge of the analysis, interpretation, understanding, design, programming and control of production and logistics systems intended to manage, implement and develop strategies to optimize for maximum performance of the process of creating goods and / or the provision of services.

"The object of study of industrial engineering is the continuous improvement of productive systems of goods and services consist of: human , technological, financial , economic, material and information resources in order to increase productivity and competitiveness of organizations .

The Toyota Production System is applied throughout the world ; It has been imitated and admired by many companies. It is based on several ideas developed or incorporated by Kiichiro Toyoda and Taiichi Ono:

Just in time. It means producing only what is necessary , at the right time and in the amount needed .

 No component of a car must be manufactured before it is needed. Avoid unnecessary accumulation of inventories that produce losses.

This allows the system of production and distribution to dealers to be flexible and ensure that every customer to buy the vehicle specification and color you want and you get it in the shortest possible time . The Just in Time aims to produce quality products at lower cost and more efficiently . Therefore, a balanced sequence program production and stocks are minimized.

Jidoka . Automation with a human touch that combines the placement of machines in the order they are used and the associated training to handle any of them allows the continuously flowing production .

Kaizen . The idea that everything is susceptible of improvement. Being in the hands of partners , continuous improvement becomes a driving force behind Toyota quality . We improve our business operations continuously , always considering the innovation and evolution

La Ingeniería Industrial es la rama de las ingenierías encargada del análisis, interpretación, comprensión, diseño, programación y control de sistemas productivos y logísticos con intención de gestionar, implementar y establecer estrategias de optimización para lograr el máximo rendimiento de los procesos de creación de bienes y/o la prestación de servicios.
