• The deepwater Horizon oll spill in the gulf of Mexico was one of the largest oil spills inthe history of the oil  industry. On April  20  2010, there was an expiosion  on the deepwater Horizon oil rig. As result 11 workers were  killed and  great amount of oil escaped to the ocean forming an enormous oil slick. was very difficult to stop because the spill was 5,000 meters below water.

• En la profundidad de mar del horizonte los derrames  de aceite  en el golfo de México fue uno de los mayores derrames de petróleo en la historia de la industria petrolera. El 20 de abril de 2010, se produjo un explosión en la plataforma petrolera en aguas profundas Horizonte. Como resultado 11 trabajadores murieron y gran cantidad de petróleo se escaparon hacia el océano formando una enorme mancha de petróleo. era muy difícil de parar porque el derrame fue de 5.000 metros bajo el agua.

How It Happened: 
In June 1979, an oil well in the Bay of Campeche collapsed after a pressure buildup sparked an accidental explosion. Over the next 10 months about 140 million gallons of crude spouted into the Gulf of Mexico from the damaged oil well.

The Cleanup: 
In order to slow down the flow of oil from the damaged well, mud and later steel, iron and lead balls were dropped down its shaft. According to PEMEX (Mexican Petroleum), half the oil burned when it reached the surface and a third evaporated. PEMEX also hired a company to spray dispersants over 1100 square miles of oil slick. Dispersants effectively act like dish soap, breaking up oil so that more of it can mix into the water. That way, they can reduce the effect of the oil slick on shorelines. On the Texas side of the gulf, skimmers and boomers were placed in the water to protect the bays and lagoons of the Barrier Islands.

For : Dear Mr. Bigena

Thank you so much for showing me around the city this past weekend. It was very beautiful. Your family is wonderful, and I couldn’t have felt more welcome. I also want to thank you for teaching me those useful phrases so I could speak a little Italian while I finished my business trip. My time in Venice was amazing, and it was just about the only time I could actually get a little rest. The remainder of my trip was busy, but I still enjoyed it immensely.

I would love to reciprocate by inviting you and your family to my home in neza . (I’m sure you could use a break from your hard work!) I know the city very well and can show you all my favorite places. And of course you’d all be able to stay at my flat during your trip.

I do hope you are able to attend. Don't worry about the cost; it will be my treat. It’s the least I can do to pay you back for your amazing hospitality. Please write back if you would like to visit.
