Introduction
In this report the interview was analyzed into qualitative research. The interviewed was a fourth year student of the teaching english course of ISMB who already teaches on a school. The interview was executed at ISMB on October Friday 24th.
Some aspects of the interview like resources and the educational planning have been analyzed and related.
Instruments used for data collection
Questionary
The questionary used for the interview was made in Practica Docente’s classes under the guidance of Professors Bremec and Bordon.
This instrument consists in 22 questions aimed to reveal the interviewer's ideas about teaching and learning.
The questionary was answered by the student at school.
Interview
Interviews are one of the most frequently instrument used in qualitative studies, where the researchers asks not only about those things that they want to study, they also must understand the language of the interviewers and appropriate the meaning that they give us to lead the interview to a natural environment. In this case, to make the interview we had 6 axis acting as elements to guide us and to do the questions.
The axis were : Introduction, role of teachers, relationship with students, relationship with school authorities, resources and methodology.
The interview lasted 27 minutes.
Analysis of the obtained data
Introduction
During the introduction, I observed a very good teacher with a great predisposition to cooperate with the interview. When we started the interview, I could see that she was or she seemed nervous to answering the questionary, along the interview she was a little more relaxed and until the end of the interview she was totally relaxed and responding naturally.
Teaching role
There is a tendency to consider the role of the teacher as a source of scientific knowledges and transmitting contents to students. In this case the teacher, who still continues her training, refers to the teacher's role from a different approach she said that “a teacher can be a teacher in his/her self.” I think it is to advance to the construction of knowledge about the practice in itself.
"Observation is an activity that has taken a central place in teachers education since its inception (...) can be observed to verify theories to describe situations to identify behaviors , to reflect on teaching situations."
Student relationship
Regarding the relationship with the students, the teacher makes it clear when she said that she prefers to keep a particularly asymmetrical relationship with their students. And she considers that maintaining a symmetrical relationship with them everything becomes more difficult in the teacher-student relationship.
she said "Maybe if you give them more confidence, they will not respect you"
Relationship with school authorities
The link with the authorities of the school teacher is very good, when she was telling us about the relationship with her school authorities, she does not show any conflict within the institution. While she was answering the question I could see as she truly feels comfortable working in the institution and that there wasn’t any problem among colleagues. So also discloses that the preceptor has no function in the organization of classes, except as school administrators.
Resources
With regard to the mentioned material used in teaching classes like cards, posters, puppets and toys. The teacher implements a large variety of resources to be used in her classes, I can deduce that she is deeply involved in the learning of her students.
Even she gives her opinion about the ability that some teachers have to adapt to the context.
I can observe her dissatisfaction with the use of technology in classes, which she does not consider the technology as an effective remedy in the classroom, but on the contrary, she considers the technology as an object of distraction for students.
Methodology
With regard to methodologies, teacher reflects on this theme giving an example of the passing a Banking Education to a much more open education, in which students reveal their thoughts.
The interviewee believes that a communicative approach is what she feels more comfortable and it is more significant in education.
Conclusion
"Observation allows the teachers bring different prospectives to situations faced everyday by every teacher to teach in class. In short, from teaching, and through the comments, it is creating spaces where future teachers can build a look at themselves and their own implicit, about culture, subjective theories, the habitus, the relationship with other forms of acting, whether as allow them to gain insight about what happens in the classroom itself. "
The objective of this analysis was to characterize the English teacher Ailin Gomez, who is still completing her teacher training. This axis studied were those that we worked in class, and through the interview I can see the following findings on the different frames used by the interviewee.
The teacher continues with her specialization in the teaching course with the same dedication that years ago. Even exercising the profession, I can see in the emphasis with which she tells us her work as a teacher.
In the institutional context there seems to be any interference between managers and staff in the operation of the school. Anyway, the teacher makes clear the goodwill thereof to any problems.
The interview also highlights the good relationship and treatment of colleagues within the school where she is teaching.
The teacher offers various resources to her class, which seems to be reciprocated by the students.
The type of methodology that she prefers to use in her classes is clear; specifically is based on a communicative approach thus achieving good interaction with students.
