Preamble: The Preamble to the United States Constitution is a brief introductory statement of the Constitution's fundamental purposes and guiding principles.
The Supremacy Clause: Declares the supremacy of federal law over state law.
Enumerated powers: Powers granted to federal government.
Reserved powers: Powers left for the state
Concurrent Powers: Powers given to both federal government and state, such as taxes.
Since when has federal power been expanding ?
Since the Civil war and 14th amendment.
Important similarities between the US constitution and the Florida Constitution:
1. both have preamble, articles and amendments
2. both view the people as the ultimate source of government power.
Differences between the us constitution and the florida constitution:
The U.S. constitution addresses defends and foreign affairs and the florida constitution focuses on matters specific to Florida.
There are 3 main forms of local government in florida:
1. counties
2. municipalities
3. special districts
The Florida state legislator like congress is BICAMERAL. It consist of:
1. The Florida house of representatives, with up to 120 members
2. The Florida senate with up to 40 members
Theses members are know as state and state Senators. State representatives term is 2 years, and senators term are 4 years. Candidates must:
- be 21 years old
- be Florida residents for 2 years
- be a resident of the district he or she will represent.

What is the executive Branch of Florida ?
1. The governor: The person in charge of the executive Branch
2. The lieutenant governor: second in charge if something were to happened to governor
3. The cabinet: Attorney general, chief financial officer, commissioner of agriculture.

Florida is divided into 67 counties. The citizens in each county elect a sherrif, tax collector, property appraiser, an other officials. They also elect 5 to 7 commisioners. These commissioners make the laws and rules for the county.
