Homelessness
Can you believe how much homeless exists in our society? There are many problems that cause homelessness. The main reason for this situation is poverty; there are many poor people in our society. Another cause include poor health, and another reason is because many of these people are lazy, don’t like to work and are waiting for assistance programs to help them.
One cause is there are many poor people. This group exists because the majority of them has poor education and don’t show interest in educating their children. The problem keeps growing because they don’t show a desire to excel. The poor people are often unable to pay for housing, food, childcare and education. They have limited resources and have to cover many necessities. Being poor is the next step to poor health.
Another homelessness cause includes physical, mental illnesses, as well as, drugs and alcohol abuse. The physical illness is caused by poor nutrition. Bad eating behavior leads these people to feel weak and in poor health. The mental illness is because many of them have lost their jobs. They could receive psychological help, but do not accept it and decide for what might seem the easy way, go homeless. Mental problems often lead some of them to death. The abuse of drugs and alcohol, which is the worse illness among the homeless, increases each year. Most of them spend all their money in bad habits and do not use it to cover their family basic needs.
Finally, there are the lazy people. These people are unemployed, just waiting for the economic assistance and they have many relationship problems. Many live in abandoned buildings, cheap hotels, emergency shelters and do not have transportation. Society discriminates against them because they have bad breath, bad odors, most of the time are dirty and use drugs and alcohol.
In my opinion, the homeless situation will get worse because one of the mayor problems is the high property mortgages, wages have often been cut, the unemployment keeps growing and the economic situation is not getting better. In recent years, the government has reduced significantly the assistance benefits, and this action has worsened the homeless situation in our society.
