ENFORCING THE LAW 

Governments have many ways of making sure that citizens obey the law. They make the public aware of what the law is and try to encourage social support for law and order. They use police forces to investigate crimes and catch criminals. They authorize courts to complete the investigation of criminal and civil offences and to pass sentences to punish the guilty and deter others. And they make efforts to re-educate and reform people who have broken the law. Which of these is more effective in enforcing the law?
The laws of all countries are to be found in written records- (the legal codes of countries with continental systems, the statues and case judgments of common law countries, warnings on official forms, and notices in public buildings.) Many people do not know where to find these records and do not find it easy to read them. But ignorance of the law is almost never a defense for breaking it.

  Los gobiernos tienen muchas formas para que los ciudadanos obedezcan las leyes, generando la conciencia pública de lo que es la ley, y tratando de fomentar el apoyo social al orden público.-

4- ¿Cuál es el objetivo de trabajo con las personas que han violado las leyes?

El objetivo de trabajo  es reeducar y reformar a las personas que han violado la ley.-

 
5- ¿Dónde se encuentran las leyes de todos los países?

Las leyes de todos los países se encuentran en registros escritos, códigos legales de países con sistemas continentales, los estatutos  y los juicios en el caso de países de derecho consuetudinario, advertencias sobre formularios oficiales, y avisos en edificios públicos.-

 
6- ¿Qué diferencia se destaca entre el sistema continental y los países que siguen el sistema Anglo-Sajón?

En el sistema continental existen códigos legales; y en los países que siguen el sistema anglosajón

Se basan en estatutos de juicios de derecho consuetudinario.-

7- ¿Qué problema manifiesta un grupo de personas con respecto a las leyes?

El problema que manifiestan ese grupo de personas es que no saben donde encontrar estos registros y  no es fácil su lectura.-

 
8- ¿Puede una persona común escudarse en el desconocimiento de una ley?

El desconocimiento de la ley de una persona no es una defensa para escudarse de la misma.-

Indian police applicants riot 

Hundreds of people who wanted to join India's police force have been rioting in Northern India. The riots began because many thought the written test was too hard. It took more than an hour to bring the riots under control.
Twenty thousand hopefuls had turned up to take a written test, assessing their suitability to be constables in the Uttar Pradesh police. The candidates were upset because they found the question paper too difficult.
As they left the police headquarters in Ghaziabad, several hundred angry applicants began stopping cars and buses on the highway, breaking windows and demanding lifts. Passengers were forced from their vehicles, including several women who were hauled out and sexually assaulted. The mob of would-be police officers then ran out of control along a five kilometre section of the main highway to Delhi, smashing fences, looting food from kiosks and beating up shopkeepers. The disturbances come just as India's government is trying to reform the country's police services. Most Indians have little faith in their police, viewing them as lazy, corrupt and inefficient. The riots will do little to change that perception.
