RESUMEN

• Introducción: Los Cuidados Paliativos se han convertido en un servicio fundamental en la atención para las personas que se encuentran en una situación avanzada de cualquier enfermedad crónica. Sin tratarse de un tema novedoso en nuestro país, nos encontramos con ciertos aspectos y métodos a mejorar en esta disciplina.
• Objetivos: El objetivo principal de esta revisión bibliográfica es analizar a través de una síntesis de la literatura científica disponible la situación de los Cuidados Paliativos en España. Además, como objetivos secundarios se ha propuesto describir la realidad del acompañamiento espiritual por parte del profesional sanitario en CP, identificar los costes, los recursos disponibles y el nivel de acceso de la población a los CP, reconocer la importancia del lugar de fallecimiento en CP, finalizando con el diseño de una Unidad de Cuidados Paliativos en la Región de Murcia.
• Métodos: Se ha llevado a cabo una búsqueda bibliográfica en diferentes bases de datos como Scielo, PubMed, Dialnet, IBECS, Science Direct. Se han seleccionado un total de 16 artículos que cumplían los criterios de selección.
• Resultados: Entre los resultados obtenidos destaca la aparición de cierta escasez con respecto al acompañamiento espiritual por parte de los profesionales en los Cuidados Paliativos, acompañada de la necesidad de adecuar los servicios sanitarios asistenciales y su acceso, incluyendo los recursos económicos destinados a estos cuidados. Por último, en cuanto al lugar de fallecimiento de estos pacientes predominan las instituciones sanitarias encontrándose así cierta contrariedad con sus preferencias halladas.
• Conclusiones: La realidad de los Cuidados Paliativos españoles encontrada en esta revisión es la de cierto abandono y desinterés por parte de las organizaciones sanitarias en cuanto a la formación psicoemocional, el destino de recursos humanos y económicos, con una repercusión inevitable en la accesibilidad a servicios sociosanitarios, además del descuido del interés por las preferencias de cada usuario.

ABSTRACT

• Introduction: Palliative Care has become a fundamental service in care for people who are in an advanced situation of any chronic disease. Without being a new topic in our country, we find certain aspects and methods to improve in this discipline.
• Objetives: The main objective of this bibliographic review is to analyze, through a synthesis of the available scientific literature, the situation of Palliative Care in Spain. In addition, as secondary objectives it has been proposed to describe the reality of spiritual accompaniment by the healthcare professional in PC, identify the costs, available resources and the level of access of the population to PCs, recognize the importance of the place of death in PC , ending with the design of a Palliative Care Unit in the Region of Murcia.
• Methods: A bibliographic search has been carried out in different databases such as Scielo, PubMed, Dialnet, IBECS, Science Direct. A total of 16 articles that met the selection criteria have been selected.
• Result: Among the results obtained, the appearance of a certain shortage with regard to spiritual accompaniment by professionals in Palliative Care stands out, accompanied by the need to adapt health care services and their access, including the financial resources allocated to these cares. Finally, regarding the place of death of these patients, health institutions predominate, thus finding a certain contradiction with their found preferences.
• Conclusion: The reality of Spanish Palliative Care found in this review is that of a certain abandonment and disinterest on the part of health organizations in terms of psycho-emotional training, the use of human and economic resources, with an inevitable impact on the accessibility to social and health services, in addition to the neglect of interest in the preferences of each user.
