Chemistry is the "scientific study of matter, its properties, and interactions with other matter and with energy".
An important point to remember is that chemistry is a science, which means its procedures are systematic and reproducible and its hypotheses are tested using the scientific method. Chemists, scientists who study chemistry, examine the properties and composition of matter and the interactions between substances. Chemistry is closely related to physics and to biology.
Chemical physics a sub-discipline of physics that investigate physicochemical phenomena using techniques from atomic and molecular physics and condensed matter physics in other words study chemical process from the view of physic.
This branch study things like; the characteristics of elements and theories of physics it commonly probe the structure and dynamics of ions, free radicals, polymers, clusters and molecules.
The law conservation of energy and the law conservation of states are some things that chemical physics explain.
Einstein, in this sub-discipline, explains the concept of relativity.
There different types of relativity; general and special.
General is the actual theory of gravitation, that is created by the inertia of the bodies. Inertia is that property of a body through which it prevents any change in its position of motion or rest.
Thermodynamic is another thing that chemical physics study, it teaches us the effect of the change in pressure, temperature, volume, air on various physicals systems, also is the transfer of energy from one object to another.
All of these are examples of what chemicals physics takes charge, and why is so important to us.
The relationship between and biology is succinctly embodied in the often-cited statement “cells obey the laws chemistry. The elucidation of the structure DNA laid the foundation or the transformation of biology into a truly molecular science.
Scientific advances in the second half of the twentieth century have shown that as a result of the availability of structural information on biomolecules, their role in the relevant biological processes can be interpreted in terms of molecular interactions and transformations.
Difference between the cultures chemistry and biology sciences: Biology has its roots in the study of natural biodiversity and of phenomena associated with biotic systems. On the other hand, the practice of chemistry is anchored in the knowledge of detailed structures, interactions, and reactions at a molecular level. The enhanced interaction between biology and chemistry has had an immediate impact in the area of healthcare and medicine.
A lot of the most important medical progress in recent history has come from the development of powerful antibiotics and vaccines to treat infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses and parasites. But those breakthroughs have come with a cost microorganisms have learned how to fight back, and with a vengeance.
Resisting resistance
What’s the problem? An antibiotic drug treats infection by knocking out hundreds of strains of “sensitive” bacteria in the body. But left behind are many non-sensitive, or resistant, strains. With no stops in place, the resistant microbes repopulate themselves rapidly.
Chemists are working hard to outwit microbes that develop resistance. New forms of antibiotic drugs are currently in the pipeline, and researchers are trying to design them to target vulnerable molecular regions of enzymes within bacteria. As the name suggests, medicinal – also called pharmaceutical- chemistry is an area of research that focuses on designing and making drugs of all sorts. The first step in this process is identifying new molecules.
