Side effects in women’s health because of the consumption

of chemicals in food.

         Nowadays, when we buy our food we choose the one that looks better because we assume that it would taste better, but there is a study that reveals that food producers use a lot of additives made in laboratories to make our food appear fresher, better and with good taste.

        We all know that our food has a certain amount of chemicals but we do not notice the importance of this. “Modern production of food incorporates a wide range of synthetic chemicals” (Gillman, Jeff.  The Truth About Organic Gardening. Timber Press, 2008. Print.). As Gillman says in his book, the food in the last 10 years has been modified, turning healthy food into a lot of chemicals.

        In these days, food includes a lot of preservatives and chemicals because all that matter to people that produces it is that the costumer bought it and they would do anything for that to happen. They do not notice that the food has a lot of chemicals that produce side effects in our health. Some of the most chemicals or compounds present in food are: Methylcylclopropene, benzoic acid, butylated hydroxyanisole, Phthalate, and others. All these chemical compounds affect our health and our organisms, because they change the way our body works. These chemicals affect a lot the women’s health because of the hormones that the body of a woman has.

Dr. James said that the exposure to food including phthalate produces early puberty in girls, and it can cause later-life breast cancer.

This evidence lead us to know that just one type of chemical can affect a lot in women’s and children’s health. But there is not just one chemical, there are a lot present in fruit, vegetables, canned food, and others and we think we are eating healthy by eating healthy food  but with this chemicals we do not know if it’s better to eat fruits or not.

Fruits and vegetables that contain pesticides residues can be a health risk for people of all ages. Exposure to organophosphates may contribute to the prevalence of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders in children that consumes them or that their mother consumed them during pregnancy.
