Eating habits before, during and after the pandemic

MEMBERS: ALEJANDRO FLORES, JUAN ESTEBAN MEDINA, JUAN SEBASTIAN SALINAS, PAULA CUEVA, LAURA QUICENO

What is an eating habit?

It can be defined as eating habits by set of behaviors acquired by a individual, by the repetition of acts in Regarding the selection, the preparation and the food consumption. The habits foods are mainly related with the social, economic and cultural of a population or región determined. 

What type of diet is recommended according to age?

Three years and older: At this age children should already eat a little of everything: fruits, vegetables, cereals, meats, fish and dairy.

Ten to 18 years: They are in their early teens and need to maintain a healthy and balanced diet. It is also necessary that girls eat a good diet so that in their adult stage they have good reproductive health and bear healthy children if they wish.

How has your weight changed before, during and after the pandemic?

I believe that many people have gained or lost weight. At the beginning of the pandemic, many people had to isolate themselves or be in confinement in their countries, and that is why I think that at the beginning of the pandemic most people gained a little weight, but currently people are already able to come out of confinement, apart from each person can train in the gym or at home to take care of their weight and diet

During the COVID-19 crisis, there has also been an increase in the consumption of sugary drinks (35%), snacks and sweets (32%), and fast food and precooked products (29%); and a decrease in the consumption of fruits and vegetables (33%) and water (12%).

What nutrients should be consumed to have a balanced diet?

A balanced nutrition plan with 7 essential elements

We believe that healthy stabilization is based on eating the right foods, combined with regular exercise and rest. Proper and balanced nutrition will help you boost your daily activities and promote a life of well-being.

These are the seven elements of a balanced diet:

DO NOT drink a lot of alcohol and avoid it completely if you have a history of alcoholism.
