ANSWER:

• The letter A represents her sin of adultery, and the color red represents Hester's immense passion and love.

• Hester and Dimmesdale are reminiscent of Adam and Eve since the two rebelled against God's authority.

• The prison door: the spiked, hefty wooden prison door is a metaphor of punishment. • The red bird: it's a symbol for Hester since it's red, but it's also difficult to manage, like Hester.
