Page 3- The house on Mango Street

1. The house of Mango Street was small and red with tight steps in front and windows. Bricks are crumbling in places and the front door is so swollen you have to push hard to get in. There is no front yard,only four little elms the city planted by the curb. Out back is a small garage for the car they don’t own yet and a small yard that looks smaller between the two buildings on either side. There are stairs in their house ,but they’re ordinary hallways stairs ,and the house has only one bathroom.

Page 6- Hairs

1. Papa’s hair - Like a broom.

2. The main character’s hair – Lazy.

3. Nenny’s hair – Slippery.

4. Mother’s hair – Little rosette, little like candy circles all curly and pretty.

Page 17- Laughter

It’s sound horrible. I laugh very loud but I like the way I laugh. I think that I laugh like the roar of the lion. When I laugh I scream, then I laugh. Is very weird.

Page 23- Louie

1. Marin and the other cousin.

2. Because he had a car. When he gave to them the ride the police arrest him.

3. She likes her because she’s older and know a lot of things.

Page 28- Those who don’t

1. Because they think they are dangerous and will attack them with shiny knifes.

2. They are stupid people who are lost and got there by mistake.

3. No, because she know them all.

Page 29- There was an old woman

1. Rosa Vargas

2. She is tired all the time from buttoning bottling and babying, and cries every day for the man who left without even leaving a dollar for bologna or a note explaining how come.

3. She is tired of her life.

Page 39- The family of little feet

1. His feet were fat and doughy like thick tamales, and these he powdered and stuffed into white socks.

2. Were lovely as pink pearls.

3. Had ten tiny toes.

4. Doesn’t make a lot of noise. They were very soft.

Page 43- A rice sandwich

1. The lunch room.

2. To make a note to the principal so she can eat in the canteen.

3. Because everybody will be wanting a lunch bag.
