First talking about the shrimp, it has been said that there are mortalities and the causes are unknown, but some aqua culturists think that the principal cause is the Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) and if this is true it would severely affect the incomes of the foreign exchange of the country. “So far it has been possible to identify the cause of EMS and this is the bacteria Vibrium Paremolítico” (El Telegrafo, 2015), because of this several measures of prevention has been taking, like the use of good aquaculture practices and biosecurity measures, such as maintaining a good quality of water in the pools (Fishing Institute, 2015)
Second we have the tuna that had been affected since 2013 due to an overfishing in Asia that made fall down the metric ton and with this the operation costs of a ship are higher so there’s no enough money to cover the costs.
Third the coffee has a similar problem like the tuna that is the overproduction. Also, the high cost of the electric energy for the industry and other labor and tax charges. Finally we have the cacao that possibly is affected by mushrooms and this is due to several rains in the coast and high temperatures.
As a conclusion, we know our exportations have been seriously affected by these threats but our country should take some measures to avoid our economy fall down. "It's a difficult year, we informed the country because we planned it. If we want a better living we should make sacrifices, we are planting for the future" (Correa, 2015). It is important that Ecuador pay attention to the overproduction Asia is doing and try to solve it in the best way; our economy is being destructed by the competition because we are an importer country not an exporter one so we can emphasize in the few products we export and not let other factors to destroy them because we are not in a good position to let this kind of things pass without taking care.
