Lab Unit-6

Make sure that you have completed the previous DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, and File Sharing labs before completing these labs.

Part 1 : Lab Unit-6.1 Managing Servers

This lab is taken from the Lab 6.1 Managing Servers of the custom lab manual.

Task 1:

Perform the Exercise 6.1.1, “Creating an MMC Console” .

Task 2:

Perform the Exercise 6.1.2, “Using Remote Desktop” .

Make sure that you can access the desktop of each of your servers, from the other one of your servers.

Part II : Maintaining and Updating Windows Server 2008

This lab is taken from the Lab 6.2, “Maintaining and Updating Windows Server 2008” of the custom lab manual.

Task 1:

Perform the Exercise 6.2.1, “Using the Reliability and Performance Monitor” to use the reliability and performance monitor. You will complete this lab ONLY on W2K8xx.

Task 2:

Perform the Exercise 6.2.2, “Using the Windows Event Viewer” to use the Windows Event Viewer. You will complete this lab ONLY on W2K8xx.

Task 3:

Perform the Exercise 6.2.3, “Installing and Using the Windows Network Monitor” to use Microsoft Network Monitor. You will perform the lab on both W2K8xx (odd) and W2K8yy (even). You will need to obtain an installer from your instructor.
