BURKE AND WILLS-ACROSS AUSTRALIA:

Australia is a huge city, in the 17th century Aborigines were the first to live in Australia.

Robert O’Hara in 1860 as Irish police made an expedition to the continent from north to south, with eleven men camels and horses. The expedition had problems because none had experience as sailors.

But they were the first expedition to across Australia, and Burke and Wills are still known as heroes of exploration.

ALEXANDRA DAVID NEEL-A FRENCH WOMAN IN TIBET:

The first woman travel to India, china and Tibet, Alexandra David-Neel studying the religion of every places she traveled wrote articles and books, worked as a journalist trying to research the history of each region, its people, traditions and customs.

VITUS BERING- ACROSS SIBERIA TO NORTH AMERICA:

In 1733 a scientists made an expedition in St. Petersburg, Russia its pirpose was to explore the coast of Siberia and planned report all their geography, climate, plants, animals, customs and ways of speaking of the locals.

Scientists had an order of all they had to register; the expedition took some years of research but ultimately achieved their objective.

ROBERT SCOTT- A RACE TO THE SOUTH POLE:

Roald Amundsen was the first person to go to the North Pole. Months after Robert Scott, who was English, he traveled to the North Pole.

He was captain, made an expedition to Antartica; he traveled with an organization called the Royal Geographical Society, he study rocks, climate and water.

Robert Scott did excellent research on Antartica although he was not the first person to reach the North Pole, he was considered a hero.

MARY KINGSLEY- VICTORIAN EXPLORER:

She explored Africa and wrote two books of her research as an anthropologist, she studied the habits of people who lived in Africa.

She was born in London in 1862, her father was a doctor, she educated herself, never was married.

Being in Africa better there she exchanged things like ivory and transported it to Europe. She study the lifestyle of the people who had lived there.

Then she traveled with missionaries, helped people who needed her help. Mary gathered lots of information for England of Africa. She is considered a great woman.

WORLD POPULATION GROWTH:

The population has increased rapidly in recent years, overpopulation is affecting all countries. The percentage of overpopulation has increased year after year.

Some scientists have tried to study this problem to give a positive solution. The growth of the country in the last 50 years, also about the overpopulation that exists in China.

Population has reached the limit, it has overpopulated the earth, and the rates have increased more than 30 percent. Finally we must be aware of how the country is overpopulated.

CHANGES IN THE FAMILY:

The sociologist studies society and how it is organized, in the family there are two types of nuclear and extended, consist of parents, children, uncles and grandparents.

Also they studied the tribes and how they are organized, the members in each family.

There are different types of families; nuclear family is integred with children and parents. There are different factors that are beyond the family, grandparents, cousins, grandchildren. The main thing is to define the type of a family in society.

WOMEN AND CHANGE:

Now there are Institutions that help support women and their rights in the society, since there was nothing before that man abused women physically and psychologically since the woman was just an object that had no voice or no vote that was began to support women and equality that must always be between everyone and that everyone is equal before that law.

XXI century still exist battered women by any member of your family or your own husband. 1975 was proclaimed by the organization of the United Nations as the International year of the woman.

RAIN FORESTS:

Tropical rain forests are found in the Amazon region of South America, Central America, Africa and South and Southeast Asia.

The lower level is protected by the trees above. The temperature is humid. An amazing animal world lives in the upper level. People cut down the rest of the trees so they can sell the wood or start farms.

THE GARBAGE PROJECT:

The Garbage Project is an archaeological and sociological study. The instituted in 1973 by Dr. William Rathje in the city of Tucson in the Southwestern America state of Arizona.

This project is sometimes referred to outside of academic circles as the “garbology project”.

THE ROADRUNNER:

The roadrunner lives in the desert zone of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is a bird, but it can only fly about as much as a chicken can.

The roadrunner is quite a large bird about 45 centimeters long and 25 high. People laugh when it runs because it looks so funny. It eats an amazing variety of food.

AFRAID TO FLY:

Terror of fear that people feel when traveling either on car or on plane, some or most people have phobia when traveling. Some people are afraid when they go through tunnels, some people cannot be controlled and altered; first you have to know how to control because it is only fear.

Also there are people who lose control and need help to control every situation.
