Abortion Should Be Legal.
Even though millions of abortions have been performed since 1973, the debate over whether it ever should have been legalized is strongly argued by many Americans, as well as people of many other countries and cultures. The beliefs and opinions of these people are generally divided into two groups, those who call themselves pro-choice and those referring to themselves as pro-life. Pro-choice argues that abortion should be legalized without the influence of government or religion. Pro-life believes that unborn babies are human from the moment of conception and, therefore, abortion is immoral and effectively killing innocent human beings.
First of all, before a person makes a decision about abortions, they should know exactly what it is. The dictionary defines Abortion as: The termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival. This simply means, inducing birth to kill the fetus, or baby before it is carried to full term. Often times early in a pregnancy, a woman will go to the doctor, and take a pill, and doing that will terminate pregnancy. If it is later, then she has to have the baby surgically removed from her body. If it is too late, then she will be unable to have the procedure.
Today, abortion is a big issue concerning women because for years it had been said that abortion should not be legal. Many people feel aborting an unwanted child, or killing an unwanted child should be against the law. Many people don't' know what abortion is, who can receive abortions, and why people would even choose to get them. I feel as though a woman's body is her own to do with what ever she wants. Therefore, on the topic of abortions, I am pro-choice.
Not everyone gets an abortion for the same reason. Women get abortions for many reasons such as for rape, teen pregnancy and health reasons. Some women have fetuses diagnosed with birth defects, and choose them abort them so they won't have to raise a child with a birth defect. there are a number of reasons why a women decide to interrupt the pregnancy.
Under certain circumstances, abortion may be the most appropriate or suitable action to take. Young women who find themselves pregnant, unprepared, and or at no fault for the conception shouldn't be penalized for being so. It is acceptable to have an abortion to stabilize and maintain a normal healthy lifestyle. It is naturally a woman's choice to have a baby or not, and if unplanned, she should also have the choice to keep it or to take action to change her situation. Abortion should be legal because it should be the right of the persons involved whether to have an abortion or not.
It is clear abortion should be legal; even if it seems immoral it can often be the best situation for the people that have to make that tough decision. Pro-choice
