Entre el rio Bogotá y los cerros orientales, se concibe la ciudad de Bogotá. Ambos límites se entrelazan mediante cuatro ríos que tejen la capital en el sentido oriente-occidente y configuran el espacio urbano. La ciudad dispone un ecosistema único basado en la relación hombre-naturaleza el cual fue aprovechado en el siglo XIX abasteciendo a sus habitantes de los recursos del territorio y creando una cultura en torno al agua y al paisaje.

No obstante, con el crecimiento desmedido y no planificado de la ciudad, los habitantes se han apoderado de estos espacios naturales olvidando las bondades del territorio y poniendo en riesgo a la población que habita en sus orillas.

Between the Bogota river and the oriental hills, the city of Bogota is conceived. Both limits come together through four rivers that weave the capital in east–west direction and form the urban space. The city has an only ecosystem based on the relation human-nature, which was used in the 19th century to supply its population with the resources of the territory to create a culture around the water and the landscape.

Nevertheless, with the excessive and not planned growth of the city, the people has taken over the natural spaces forgetting the kindness of the territory and jeopardizing the population who lives in its shores.

Con esto en mente, el proyecto Sutura de límites se sitúa en los barrios Santa Rita y San Pedro de Tibabuyes, en donde la ribera del rio Bogotá ha posibilitado el asentamiento del 2,1% de la población desplazada del país. Un territorio enmarcado por el agua, en donde prima la diversidad cultural y la contaminación, y carece el espacio público. El proyecto busca recopilar las múltiples memorias y los saberes de quienes viven o vivieron allí con el fin de modificar la superficie en torno a un paisaje productivo que represente las costumbres de sus habitantes y que al mismo tiempo mitigue el riesgo de las inundaciones y mejore la calidad del rio Bogotá.

Sobre la superficie se posan distintos puentes que conectan la ciudad con los municipios adyacentes, eliminando la idea de límite, llevando la actividad al río y potenciando la interacción entre las poblaciones de ambos costados. El río se integra al tejido urbano y fortalece su papel como articulador de la ciudad, se vuelve el eje económico y ambiental más importante, desde el cual se generan dinámicas a favor de la recuperación del patrimonio natural y cultural.

With that in mind, the project Suture of limits places in the neighborhoods Santa Rita and San Pedro of Tibabuyes, where the shore of the Bogota river has made possible the settlement of 2,1 % of the displaced population of the country. A territory framed by the water, where the priority is the cultural diversity and the pollution, but the public space lacks.

The project seeks to compile the multiple memories and the knowledge of those who live or lived there in order to modify the surface around a productive landscape that represents the people customs and at the same time it mitigates the risk of the floods and improves the quality of the Bogotá river.

On the surface are settled different bridges that connect the city with the adjacent municipalities, which eliminate the idea of limit, take the activity to the river and promote the interaction between the populations of both sides. The river joins to the urban fabric and strengthens his paper as linker of the city, it becomes the most important economic and environmental axis, from which dynamics are generated in favor of the recovery of the natural and cultural heritage.

Queriendo llevar la actividad al río, este puente se establece como el remate de la calle 151D, configurando un nuevo centro. El lugar donde se darán todas las actividades que antes no existían en los barrios del sector Los Gavilanes, tales como el cine, el teatro, la fiesta, etc.

Este puente se vale de su curvatura para seguir los contornos del paisaje aprovechando las visiones fundamentales del paisaje natural y los barrios adyacentes.

Su primer piso es el lugar de sombra que se relaciona directamente con un canal de agua que sale del río bogotá, el agua que por aqui pasa ha mejorado su calidad gracias a las plantas macrofitas quienes se han engargado de limpiarla. Ahora el río se puede tocar, oler, caminar, interactuar con él.

El segundo piso consta de dos frentes, el interior el cual cuenta con bancas que permiten la interacción con el centro y el exterior el cual permite solo las vistas superiores, enfocando, el cielo y los paisajes lejanos.

As we want to take the activity to the river, this bridge will be established as the auction of the street 151D, forming a new center. In this place all the activities (like cinema, theatre, parties, etc.) that didn’t exist in the neighborhoods of the sector “Los Gavilanes”, will be given.

This bridge uses his curvature to follow the landscape contours taking advantage of the fundamental visions of the natural landscape and of the adjacent neighborhoods.
