Variation of global temperature in 2015
[pic 1]
The problem that we chose to focus on, was about the danger and threats that affect the environment and the species of this planet. Maybe at first it wasn’t that big of an issue like it is now, and we didn’t notice or did not care. But through the years, this issue has grown bigger and bigger, this could include all the advances that we have made in our society. An example of this could be global warming, in the past 70 years the global temperature has risen faster each year, and we can prove this by looking at a 134 year span, where the top ten warmest years have occurred in the in the 21st Century, with 2015 being the warmest of all.
For some decades the reasons for global warming were unknown, but only recently it was concluded that the main cause was something called the “Greenhouse Effect”. Scientists all over the world gather and discuss new findings about this problem, and they stated that these greenhouse gases are emitted by humans. We do this in our everyday actions like when we drive our cars and release fossil fuels, or when companies with factories produce electricity. The gas responsible for most of the problem, is carbon-dioxide, and it can especially be found in landfills and agriculture section, where there plenty of animal feces. By doing all of this we overwhelm the quantity of gases and because we use trees for various reasons, there is no place where this gas can be stored.
Aside from the issue that we have with our environment, there is also the issue with the species in danger of extinction. A species becomes endangered when it poses a certain risk of extinction and when there are just few of its kind, the reasons for this can vary between hunting, habitat change, climate change, diseases, etc… The rate of extinctinction in some species is greater than the natural rate with some species going extinct when they have just been discovered.
The alarming rate at which various species are disappearing is something that should worry us as humans. These species are very essential for our planet and our way of living, they maintain order in the ecosystems, they provide food, they give us fertile soils, they provide food, clean water and various others.
The objective is to raise awareness that this is real and that it can affect all of us, and only by working together we are going to solve this

“Working with local communities, helping ecosystems adapt to rapid change, speeding up the renewable energy transition, and cutting the emissions that drive climate change these are critical things WWF does to make a safer world, for all of us. The vision of WWF is a world powered by clean, renewable energy, where communities and ecosystems are resilient in the face of climate challenges.”
