TRICHINOSIS
Trichinosis is a disease caused by the larvae of a parasitic worm called Trichinella, which lives in animals including pigs, bears, dogs, cats, horses and wild animals such as bears, polar bears, foxes, wolves, walruses, seals and rats. Trichinosis is rare in the United States.
Symptoms include:
Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting,fever, muscle pain, eye Inflammation, chills
The severity of symptoms depends on how many larvae are consumed in the meat. Most people have no symptoms or have very mild symptoms. Symptoms usually begin one to two weeks after exposure.
