The influence of PVH in Mexico

Hello good morning my name is Mauricio Villa and I’ll tell you the reason why Mexico is so important to PVH.

Even though you probably already know all about PVH, I prepared a brief presentation for you about the company and the influence it has in Mexican society.

PVH is one of the largest branded lifestyle apparel companies in the world led by CK which was acquire in 2003 and TM which was acquire in 2010 and together they represent 75% of its business

PVH is an international conglomerate of luxury brands which is looking to get Mexico to be one of the most important fashion spotlights around the world

Unfortunately, as we all know, Mexico has been facing several insecurity issues such as murderers, alarming levels of violence, drug trafficking and political repression, and this has triggered a huge unconformity in the less fortunate social classes which has given Mexico a bad image to the world and this has affected the economy because of the departure of many important companies and the lack of new foreign investments.

This has caused unstable environment and a difficult economic climate which led to a decrease of its population intake.

Despite that it is a country of great interest for the company and it represents one of the biggest expansion strategies.

Therefore its market grows between 10% and 15% annually for PVH brands and still it is looking to double that percentage.

Did you know that PVH Mexico is the #1 company in sales in Latin American even over Brazil?

Well, this is because of several factors, but I will mention the ones I consider the most important

First of all Mexico has a great acceptance from American and European influences

Additionally it has a very open economy and better potential because of its demography which allows it to have more influence from around the world

Also Mexico has an extensive medium class and a “generation X” (a generation known for having a huge influence by consumerism and globalization because of the internet).  This generation is the actual target and not every country has it.

As I said before the company in Mexico is looking to growth further and in order to do that part of its strategy is to incorporate young people to the team.

Nowadays the company has around 300 employees and they expect the team grow between 10% and 15% within the next 12 months but fortunately under one condition: new elements must be just graduates.

Finally, I’d like to end this presentation with a personal comment about how I share the company’s philosophy as I actually believe in the importance of having a balance between professional and personal life in order to have a successful and rewarding life.
