Lesson Plan Of Whales

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this lesson is for the students to understand that here are different kinds of whales, what they eat, that they migrate, they live in the water and though the whales are mammals.

MATERIAL: Digital presentation, a video about the subject, flash cards, chalks and a chronometer.

WARM UP: We will start class by playing “Boom, snap, clap” which helps to improve the students rhythm and coordination skills.

PRESENTATION/PROCEDURE: We will discuss and explain the students the way whales live including their diet, communication and migration during the different season of the year. Also we will help them understand the difference between a normal fish and a whale (mammal) and why aren´t they the same. To help them with this we will show them a short video, to make it clearer.

ACTIVITY/PRACTICE: For the activity we will divide the group into five teams, to encourage them into teamwork. After the students had gather with their respective teams we will explain the students the hangman game and we will play it using the vocabulary words related to whales, previously learned. Each team will have two minutes tops to guess the word and they will be gaining points for each word guessed. The winners will get a small prize to encourage the students to make their best.
