MEXICO
The official name of Mexico is United States of Mexico. It's a country of the American Continent.
The national symbols are the national anthem, the flag and the National Coat of Arms. The flag is segmented into three equal parts, in green, white and red, with the National Coat of Arms in the center.
Mexico It’s a Democratic, representative and Federal Republic; conformed by 32 federative entities, of which there are 31 states and 1 Federal Capital.
The Federal government and the State governments are organized by the Executive, Legislative and Judicial powers, but the sovereignty of the nation resides in the people, that is, the electoral system is democratic.
The Mexican territory has an area of 1964375 km², making it the fourteenth largest country in the world. In addition, It’s the eleventh most populated country in the world with a population of approximately 119 million inhabitants.
The official currency is the Mexican peso ($). The name corresponds to the monetary unit in force since 1993 with the MXN code.
The official language is Spanish, but several indigenous languages (around 67) are also spoken due to their great cultural diversity.
Mandatory universal education has been imposed for all citizens. The Constitution of Mexico establishes that the State will provide preschool, primary, secondary and upper secondary education in a secular, free and compulsory manner.
Mexico is an officially secular country since the separation between religious institutions and the political administration of the nation, however, most of the population declares itself Christian; the majority Catholic (around 93 million) and the second are Jehovah's Witnesses (around 1 million).
One of the most important traditions is that of September 15 to mark the anniversary of Independence Day. There are dances, fireworks, music and multicolored lights. New year is also celebrated.
Some people celebrate the Three Kings Day and Christmas Eve, where they place a birth to commemorate the arrival of the child God.
In terms of gastronomy, corn, beans and chili are the most representative foods of Mexican dishes. The diet is based on the tortilla, with the tacos as the most representative of Mexico; In addition there is a high consumption of all kinds of meat, fruits and vegetables. The consumption of soft drinks, beer and tequila is common in Mexican families.
