Create or Supply?
Does marketing create or supply’s consumer needs? To answer this question we have to look many aspects of the marketing in things that can be attract the attention of the people for new innovations or new things. And also try that people get it because are new things and by this marketing can create needs. First sometimes marketing creates the consumer needs and then it at the same time supplies the needs of the consumer.
Something that we can see by this is how marketing sale many things that at the beginning not is a need but then it transfer it to a need for the consumer when many people saw it and began to consume or to need those things that in the reality not are needs. For example marketing in publicity sale you some clothes of the sign forever 21 (for example) are the new collection of this sign, first it is not a need for those people but when they look those things it convert in a need because also it can be that you are one of the may people that use that sign and you care that collection making that action it convert in a need for you and at that same time if you have the resources marketing create the need and supply the need.
Thinking about many things marketing (not all times), promote that the consumer get new needs that in reality not are true needs because needs be food, clothes (when you clothes are old), a house for live and a family, the education, and many things for everyday living.
What does marketing do to make to us get new (not basic) need? Marketing sale us in publicity: cell phones, the new one with the best applications and with a camera with more megapixels, faster than the last one, and if we love that sign of cell phone, it converts in a need and later we have to supply that need and the same marketing supply that new nee that it create in us.
Sometimes it occur an event we know that sometimes marketing can create that need but we have to think if there is a way in which it can’t supply that need that they create. We know that many people don’t had many money and for example with a cell phone, marketing promote a new cell phone and there is one people looking that promotion and don’t had any cell phone and when this person wants it, this person looks that cell phone but dint have the money require for buy this cell phone. In this example we can see that sometimes marketing create a need but it can supply it.
With this situation if marketing create or supply a need be many aspect that we have to see and we have to see two. The first be that marketing create and at the same time supply the need but we have to clear this aspect to continue with the others, this aspect in which marketing create and supply the need is only with certain part of people and this people can be the high class. The second aspect is that marketing create the need but don’t supply it.
The last aspect we have been talking about can occur with low and middle class. By this reason is that I see that marketing create and supply needs, and at the same time create but don’t supply needs.
