SPELLING BEE RULES

• The pronouncer announces the word to bespelled and the speller has 10 seconds to start spelling the word.
• The speller opens... says... and closes the word given.
• The speller will hear "How do you spell..."when is his/her turn.
• The speller asks for the word to be repeated or ask for an example if it is necessary.
• If the spelling is incorrect, that speller is eliminated from the game. The judge gives the correct spelling of that word.
• The speller must say it loudly, slowly and clearly enough for the judge to hear it.
• The word is not shown
• The judges determines whether or not the word was spelled correctly and decides who pass to the next round.
• Judges will clarify any unexpected situation.

EVALUACIÓN DEL SPELLING BEE

• Será evaluada la capacidad de los estudiantes para deletrear palabras de manera precisa requiriendo la menor ayuda posible, dentro de un límite de tiempo (15)
• El puntaje se asignará de la siguiente manera:
• Se asignarán tres puntos a la palabra correctamente deletreada, abriendo dentro del tiempo asignado y cerrando sin solicitud de ayuda. (flower/s flour)*
• Se asignarán dos puntos a la palabra correctamente deletreada si el/la estudiante no cierra o abre la palabra antes de comenzar a deletrear.
• Se asignarán dos puntos a la palabra correctamente deletreada, abre y cierra, si se solicita una ayuda (repetición o uso de la palabra en una oración).
• Se asignará dos puntos si no mencionan la letra mayúscula y espacio.
• Se asignarán 1 punto a la palabra correctamente deletreada sin abrir y cerrar palabra.
• Se asignarán dos puntos en caso de que el/la estudiante comience de nuevo a deletrear la palabra y que no se haya equivocado.
• Se asignará un punto a la palabra correctamente deletreada, abriendo y cerrando pero que requirió de dos ayudas para su deletreo.
