Objective:
To take a look at franchising as an opportunity for Mexican business that want to expand their presence abroad the Americas.
Procedure:
First I provided a list of the top 20 companies that pursue franchising as a mode of international expansion, then I made a research of the company taking notes of all the important details, finally I provided a detailed description covering and explaining their business model, their international expansion strategy, a list of desirable qualifications In potential franchisees, a description of the institutional support and training programs provided by Kidzania to the franchisees and my analysis of the current American business environment together with the answers to the questions of the assignment.
Results:
1. Go to the Entrepreneur website and find the latest ranking available, and then provide a list of the top 20 companies that pursue franchising as a mode of international expansion. From an international business perspective, what are the most common features shared by these 20 companies?
It is not by chance that these companies have been able to be successful abroad and usually these traits are shared by successful companies here is the list of Entrepreneur Magazine of the top 20.

The most important thing for a Franchise to be successful is a well designed business model and a methodology of doing things that becomes the trademark of the brand. This system must be well researched, detailed, clear accurate and secure.
The brand identity must be strong and solid, it must have consistency in all the centers, this provides further recognition of the brand in front of new customers and investors.
The franchise concept is innovative, easily to reproduce and the business model is durable over time.
The extensive and comprehensive initial training of the franchisee and his staff until they are ready to fulfill the standards that the brand has stablished over time.
A well developed communication strategy that is well followed by all the Franchises involved.
Active service and support to all the farnchise network
A well defined set of rules and economic parameters and guidelines for all the franchise network: Entry fee, “Royalties” or operating fees, advertising sales, the financial obligations of the franchisee, what are his rights with the brand, and what will be the training programs that will be followed.
2. There is a big Mexican company that has been planning to enter the US market for a long time, but hesitated and chose to deploy first a franchising program in other regions of the world. We are talking about KidZania. Have you heard about them? Either way, do some research about Kidzania's case and take notes (you can start with these articles published in The Morning News and in The Financial Times).
