Las regiones montañosas se ven particularmente afectadas por los impactos del cambio climático. El proyecto tiene como objetivo ampliar la AbE como medio para desarrollar la resiliencia al cambio climático y promover la adaptación en las montañas, beneficiando directamente a los habitantes de las montañas y también a millones de personas río abajo. Las medidas incluyen garantizar que los proyectos emblemáticos y nuevos produzcan evidencia y lecciones a largo plazo; extraer ese conocimiento y evidencia; crear capacidad local para replicar enfoques exitosos; e informar planes y políticas de adaptación locales, nacionales e internacionales. Se utilizará la capacitación aplicada para transmitir lecciones, replicar prácticas de AbE y vincularlas con los PAN. Perú, Nepal, Uganda: Los sitios emblemáticos seguirán generando datos y lecciones para la AbE en las montañas, informando nuevas manifestaciones e influyendo en planes y políticas. Kenia: Los enfoques de AbE se replicarán en el Monte Elgon (lado de Kenia). Bután y Colombia: El proyecto identificará proyectos de desarrollo o conservación existentes en los que la AbE de montaña pueda compartirse e infundirse para construir una base para la integración nacional.

The proposing entity must demonstrate experience in the management, execution or co-execution of at least three (3) Science, Technology and Innovation projects in the last five (5) years or must demonstrate at least one (1) CTel project approved with SGR CTel resources. The foregoing must be duly completed in the format "CTel projects managed, executed or in progress by the proponent and members of the alliance" (Annex 5), and must be supported by: conventions/contracts, agreements, administrative acts, minutes of liquidation or termination, which must be included in the SIGP platform, "requirements" section, "CTel Project Supports managed, executed or in progress" field. In the case of alliances, the individual experiences of the participating entities cannot be combined to comply with the minimum experience required for the proposing entity. La pérdida de especies avanza de 2 a 3 veces más rápido en los ecosistemas acuáticos que en los forestales. El proyecto apoya la protección y restauración de lagos y humedales, los paisajes asociados y su biodiversidad con once socios del proyecto de diez países del LLN. La atención se centra en el desarrollo de capacidades para todos los actores involucrados en el uso y gestión de los lagos. Se formará a las autoridades locales, las administraciones regionales y la sociedad civil para reducir los impactos negativos de la agricultura, la pesca y el turismo. Además, el desarrollo de técnicas innovadoras, p. en el tratamiento de aguas residuales, la renaturalización de los paisajes lacustres, la gestión de especies invasoras y la agricultura respetuosa con la biodiversidad se promoverán como "iniciativas pioneras". Las experiencias en la implementación de estos proyectos se difunden a nivel regional, nacional y global con el fin de lograr una mejor implementación de las leyes y planes de gestión de protección de lagos, el fortalecimiento de las ONG y su participación en las consultas con las partes interesadas.
