1. De acuerdo con Vygotsky (1989) la adquisición y perfeccionamiento de la lengua materna del niño le ayuda a aprender el idioma inglés porque no interfiere en este proceso. Cuando las dos lenguas (la primera o materna y la segunda) tienen valores afectivos, culturales y sociales, los niños construyen sus aprendizajes y desarrollan habilidades de comprensión.

Bongaerts (1989) el dice que no solamente es  una cuestión fisiológica la que restringe la habilidad para aprender otro idioma a cierta edad, sino que también deben tomarse en cuenta otros factores relacionados, como la motivación para adquirir una segunda lengua, la integración a una comunidad de habla extranjera, la disponibilidad de tiempo para estudiar y practicar, la colaboración de los interlocutores nativos, la interferencia de la lengua materna, el temor a hacer el ridículo.

Creo que en este punto queda claro que los niños no tienen prejuicios para asimilar un nuevo idioma, ya que sienten menos miedo a equivocarse que los adultos, y con esto se nos dificulta más aprender un idioma.
