"Autism is a syndrome that affects communication and social and emotional relationships of the individual”.
One never expects the arrival of a child with a different capacity. When a mother is waiting for a child, she dreams of her child growing up to be the best in everything he does, the best doctor, the best lawyer, the best psychologist . But what happens when over the time, the parents realize that this child is different, does not communicate normally, not showing emotions, when he speaks does not make eye contact, or make any gesture to show understanding of what you say. The arrival of a baby changes one´s life. You start to notice that your dreams for that child are fading slowly and hope that the child may turn out to be you imagined it to be.
Why is this happening? No one can predict that the growth of the infant will not go as expected. Sometimes parents consider that their child may be disabled, but prefer to replace those thoughts with thoughts that all will be well. When the baby arrives and parents realize that they dreamed may not be true, life changes, family relationship changes, and their whole world becomes totally different.
We see this issue far from us, we do not think that is a reality. In our country it is important to understand this issue. Studies have shown that in recent years, there increase has been an in the number of children with autism, and society is not prepared to deal with these children. The lack of information makes us think that a child with autisms is unable to achieve or have a normal life, despite the condition in which these children can live normally with a proper education.
Society must first know that it is a disease and find a way to help not only people with this condition, but also inform families and orient them to better education for their children to lead a normal life.
This nation need to create an awareness of better treatment of children with diseases and better treatment to families with children living each day this syndrome.
