Objective
To take a look at franchising as a viable strategy for a Mexican business trying to reach another national market in the Americas.
Procedure
- I went into Blackboard platform to read the Lessons related to Assignment 1.
- I read the assignment to comprehend what to deliver.
- I did a research about franchising and what companies conform the top 200 of Mexican enterprises in this area.
- I did a research about KidZania and its expansion.
- I wrote my results on the report rubric for its delivery via Blackboard.
Results
A vital element of a successful international market-entry strategy is an appropriate fit of skills and capabilities between business partners, and this is especially true for the franchising system. On this regard, every year Entrepreneur magazine publishes a ranking of the top 200 global franchisers seeking international franchisees.

The top 20 of franchises has variety as its main characteristic, but we can agree that every enterprise tries to expand their service or product to further territories and people. We can see many companies that take on the real estate area or healthy areas such as food or dentists. Regardless, growing means adapting to each one of this companies and just by trying to enter a new city or state represents a challenge for them.
2.- There is a big Mexican company that has been planning to enter the US market for a long time, but hesitated and chose to deploy first a franchising program in other regions of the world. We are talking about KidZania. Have you heard about them? Either way, do some research about Kidzania's case and take notes.
KidZania is a multinational chain of family entertainment centers, where kids can try out professions that have been simplified and made fun. Here, children play at being adults in tasks like being detectives, journalists, radio hosts and dozens of more jobs.
